Our company name, Freebird Hospitality Group, comes from Omar’s dream to own a mini-resort in Central America. He has always had an adventurous and free-spirit with a love for travel. In our logo, the island resembles his original drawing and the bird, the Arctic Tern, represents the freedom to travel anywhere in the world.
The Arctic Tern is the longest migrating bird. It travels 59,650 miles from the Arctic Circle to the Antarctic Circle and back again living an endless summer. We identify with the Tern as we travel throughout the world seeking our version of the endless summer!

I want to buy a mini-resort in Central America!
This is what Omar came up with and drew while giving a visualization assignment to my students in the fall of 2016.
The assignment came from a Ted Talk called “Draw Your Future.” In the video, the presenter, Patti Dobrowolski said that after drawing your desired new reality, your subconscious mind will try to figure out how to bring that drawing into reality.
Fast-forward to today, and he and his wife Mary are all in on this vision. They currently own two short-term rentals. One in Seguin, Texas and the other in the northwest side of San Antonio situated between SeaWorld and Six Flags.
He became a real estate investor in 1998 when he was 22 years old. He used a VA loan to purchase his first property and has been managing rentals ever since. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business, Gallegos has also worked in advertising, marketing, banking, mortgages, construction, real estate acquisitions, education, and entrepreneurship. He is a teacher at heart and says he “Practices what he Teaches.
”

Mary has a passion for service and entrepreneurship. She not only makes sure guests have a great experience but also makes sure our properties are running smoothly by coordinating our team’s activities.
Mary is also a nutrition coach where she helps people get healthy through natural clean eating.
